The Regional Reader Sales
Coordinator, for the Edmonton Journal and Calgary Herald will assist with the
development and implementation of All-Access subscription acquisition, and
retail sales. The Coordinator will work closely with a variety of internal and
external resources to ensure circulation and revenue budgets at the Edmonton
Jou

rnal and Calgary Herald are achieved.

Responsibilities:
  • Key
    player in achieving circulation and financial budget for Edmonton Journal
    & Calgary Herald.
  • Implement
    subscription sales programs to achieve sales targets; Liaise with sales
    vendors and implement direct sales programs.
  • Monitor
    sales initiatives and ensure customer orders are fulfilled.  Track
    sales results by ensuring that daily and monthly circulation reports are
    provided in a timely manner.
  • Provide
    updates to staff and contracted customer service teams regarding current
    promotions. 
  • Liaison
    with subscription sales contractors and assist with subscription sales
    inquiries. 
  • Provide
    support to contracted vendors for managing all aspects of retail sales.
  • Work
    with retail sales locations on all aspects of newspaper sales.
  • Provide
    assistance to the Reader Sales Department as required.
Qualifications:
  • Previous
    sales and marketing experience; a College Diploma or University Degree
    with a sales/marketing focus would be an asset.
  • Proven
    ability to develop, promote and implement sales plans.
  • Ability
    to solve problems quickly and effectively through interpretation and
    analysis of sales data and market research.
  • Strong
    communication skills with the ability to develop and build strong business
    relationships at all levels.
  • Ability
    to work independently and effectively manage priorities in a demanding,
    fast-paced environment.
  • Ability
    to think creatively in order to develop and implement unique sales
    programs.
  • Ability
    to manage multiple sales projects, vendors and goals
  • Have
    working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be capable of learning digital
    subscription portals, and internal computer programs.
  • Travel
    may be required.
