A glimpse at the role:

As a Junior Financial Analyst you will be asked to provide analytical support
on Finance & Accounting projects, as well as other quantitative projects
for teams across the entire company. As we strive to become a more data-driven
business, you will play a crucial role in providing management with the
information required to make smart decisions.

Some of the things you’ll get paid to do:

Financial Reporting
• On a monthly / quarterly / annual basis you will be expected to gather the
relevant data to present finalized financial statements (Profit & Loss,
Balance Sheet, Cash Flows etc)
• Maintain financial dashboards for use by management, and modifying them as
needed
• Assist with year-end financial reporting

Funding / Grant Proposal Coordination
• Research and document funding opportunities
• Oversee the writing of funding / grant proposals
• Manage the collection of required documentation and information for regular
reporting

Ad Hoc Project Support
• Work with colleagues across the company to provide data processing and
financial analysis support services (NPV, ROI, Payback Period, etc) on a range
of project types
• Writing business plans for proposed new lines of business
• Assist with annual budget creation and ongoing budget analysis
• Support our bookkeeper on an as-needed basis

Required Education and Experience:
• 1 – 2+ years of relevant experience in a finance/accounting related role (including
internships)
• College diploma or University degree in a financial or quantitative field of
study (Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, etc); or an equivalent combination of
related experience and education

Skills and Personal Attributes:
• Ability to communicate effectively and across multiple departments
• Strong command of English language, with exceptional writing skills
• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint; Google Docs & Drive; Database and
ERP system experience an asset
• Advanced or Expert level Excel skills

Nice-to-haves:
• Previous experience writing proposals and/or business plans
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence platforms
• Some general proficiency with a programming language (Java, .NET, Python,
VBA, etc.)
• Familiarity with statistical analysis (e.g. MATLAB, Minitab, R, etc.)
