Specific tasks and responsibilities:
• Conduct analysis of global and Rwandan economic and investment trends to identify impact on investment
and competitiveness
• Conduct financial and economic analysis on specific initiatives to develop the private sector e.g., public investments.
• Communicate findings of strategy projects to the rest of RDB and government and secure stakeholder buy-in
• Support the design of the implementation of reforms and strategies and provide oversight where necessary
• Provide input into policies, laws and GoR decision forums such as Kivu to improve their impact on private sector development
• Conduct internal/organizational strategy projects at RDB
• Collaborate on any other work being undertaken under the Strategy & Competitiveness Unit
Job requirements, qualifications and experience:
• Master’s degree in economics/statistics/public administration/ business administration/law or other related subjects with a minimum intensive work experience of 2 years
• Experience in private sector strategy consulting and/or direct policy advice to governments is an advantage
• Strong quantitative, economic, financial analysis skills with ability to analyse, structure and think strategically about a problem
• Good stakeholder management skills and ability to work with senior public officials and private sector leaders
• Excellent English language writing skills for reports, policy briefs and strategic notes•
• A strong understanding of the drivers of economic growth and investment in Africa and emerging markets as well as an appreciation of the wider context for business and its relation to the Government
A strong ability to work in team, Delivery focused, pragmatic, able to multi-task and get things done in a fast paced environment
• Professional, detail orientated with high standards
