Raise the Root is an organic market located in Leslieville, Toronto. We’re
focused on local, organic produce and grocery. The store’s concept is to have
the variety of a grocery store with a farmer’s market feel. We have a steady
flow of farmers, foragers and local entrepreneurs dropping off their delicious
and nutritious goods. We’re passionate about food, the environment a

fun! The organization consists of hardworking, motivated and fun loving people
who are focused on providing a friendly and community oriented market-like
experience to our customers (a.k.a. neighbours). In the role of the Produce
Merchandiser and Sales Clerk, you would be responsible for:
• Delivering friendly, prompt customer service
• Informing customers about specials and store events
• Building and filling displays
• Providing knowledge of products and produce to customers
• Cleaning and culling produce
• Receiving and putting away orders
• Ensuring produce meets standards of quality and care
• Guaranteeing all products and produce have an accurate price tag
Qualifications:
• Customer service experience
• Able to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends
• Produce experience is a strongly desired asset
• Ability to lift ~40lbs, bend, and stand on your feet for several hours
• Food Handlers Certificate is a bonus!

We’re looking for a part-time employee to add to our store. In this position
you’d work a mix of weekend and weekdays, 5 shifts per week, averaging 23hours (flexible).
Shift times during the week are 10am-2pm and/or 4pm-8pm – weekends 8am-noon
(sometimes 8am-6pm) also flexible.
