Publicity and Promotion Specialist Jobs in Canada

We are seeking a
dynamic person with strong initiative to join our fast-paced creative team to
promote and publicize our services and cultural programs. This position is a 12
month contract with the approximate start date of June 29, 2015.

A post secondary
education in m

arketing, communications or public relations is preferred with
previous experience in service industry promotion. Candidates should possess
strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to offer
creative direction on design projects.

Key
Activities:

·  Develops
proposals for the overall organizational marketing strategy and provides
guidance for implementation. Conducts market research as assigned, tracks and measures
the effectiveness of publicity and marketing initiatives.

·  Designs
campaigns for marketing and promoting programs and events and raises awareness
of Idea Exchange within the region. Provides creative direction to graphic
artist on design projects and consults with print representatives and other
promotional vendors.

·  Recommends
and acts on strategies to increase membership and community awareness of Idea
Exchange services.

·  Writes
original copy for media releases, articles and other organizational
communications. Negotiates partnership agreements and schedules advertisements
with local media providers.

·  Collects
departmental submissions, proofs and edits content and prepares draft layout
for all Idea Exchange publicity. Advises on displays, signs and merchandising
as required.

Schedule:

Weekdays, 8:30am –
4:30pm, (70 hours Bi-Weekly), Idea Exchange, Queen’s Square. Flexibility
required, schedule may include some evenings and weekend work.
