2011 Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Department of Ecology and Genetics at Uppsala University in Sweden
Study Subject(s):Evolutionary plant genetics/genomics
Course Level: Postdoctoral
Scholarship Provider: Uppsala University
Scholarship can be taken at: Sweden
Eligibility: -The successful candidate must have a PhD.D completed within 3 years of the application deadline.
-Even those applicants that received their PhD earlier should be given priority if special circumstances exist.
-Special circumstances are prolonged periods of illness, parental leave, military service, union duties and others of similar character.
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description: Research into the genetic and ecological mechanisms underlying adaptive differentiation among natural populations of the plant model organism Arabidopsis thaliana. The research will be conducted within the framework of an international research collaboration. The goals are to identify QTL (quantitative trait loci) contributing to local adaptation and to key traits involved in adaptation, to characterize the effects of individual QTL, to examine whether adaptive evolution is constrained by trade-offs and pleiotropy, and to explore the molecular basis of the detected QTL.
How to Apply: Online
Scholarship Application Deadline: No later than 1 August, 2011
