permaculture more accessible. To help make this happen, we are seeking a new
Teaching Assistant. The candidate will assist the role of the primary
Permaculture Design teacher in all of his functions.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
• Setting up the classroom
• Making sure all materials are available and ready prior to a class
• Compiling students’ homework as directed by the teacher
• Setting up a reward system for students who want to push themselves
• Take attendance
• Apply disciplinary measures for students who miss too many classes
• Coordinate make up classes
• Regularly update the student section on the P3 website
• Be in charge of the social management of the groups
• Set up and direct in-class social activities
• May be required to travel with the class (locally and internationally, and
can apply for travel cost reimbursement via LOJIQ)
Required Qualifications
• Experience working with groups/students
• Excellent people skills
• Understanding of group dynamics
• Excellent organizational skills
Work Conditions
Wage: $12 per hour
Hours per week: 10h (part-time)
Start date: September 2015
