The Nigerian Labour leaders in a communiqué signed yesterday in Lagos by the national President, Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, President, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Bobboi Bala Kaigama and President, United Labour Congress (ULC), Joe Ajaero has given the federal government until 31st December to send the agreed new minimum wage bill the National Assembly all face a nationwide strike.
The Labour leaders accused government of insincerity and the use of delay tactics towards the implementation of the approved minimum wage by rejecting the federal government’s plan to set up a high-powered committee to review the approved new minimum wage before sending it to the National Assembly.
The Labour leaders has warned that if the bill is not sent to the National Assembly for implementation before 31st December, 2018, all workers in the federation will be downing their tools and will not return to work until their demands are fully met.
