To support the operations team by ensuring that the supply of food is being moved efficiently from donors to food banks across South Western Ontario.
A key member of our Food Team responsible for a variety of tasks including driving, pick up, delivery, food handling, record keeping, customer service and monitoring vehicle maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities
* Daily driving, picking up food from food industry donors and delivering food to participating food banks throughout South Western Ontario
* Assist with scheduling and controlling of shipments
* Ensure adequate and timely transportation
* Recording all weights picked up and delivered
* Relationship development with key donor partners. Work with Food Procurement Manager to keep accurate relationship records and participate in program planning discussions.
* Work effectively with donors and food banks to coordinate deliveries, on site logistics, trouble shooting
Education, Experience and other Qualifications
* Secondary School Graduation or Equivalent
* Valid driver’s license (AZ )
* Ability to drive a variety of vehicles
* Clean driving record
* Able to do heavy lifting (see Physical Demands Analysis)
* Fork lift certification
* Familiarity with South Western Ontario travel

Time Requirements
Salaried position that includes up to 40 hours a week.
Primarily Monday – Friday, start time between 5:30 and 7:30 am, depending on destination.
Some irregular hours may be required due to special events and projects and will be compensated and coordinated as outlined in the Food Bank employee manual.
Accountability
The Truck Driver reports to the Operations Manager but works closely with entire Food Team including the Food Procurement Manager.
Training and Orientation
Training and orientation is provided on an ongoing basis by The Food Bank of Waterloo Region staff and volunteers. Power equipment training, first aid certification, food safety and W.H.M.I.S training will also be made available.
