The people of Ontario deserve clean, safe and livable communities. As Regional Director, Eastern Region, you and your team will ensure cleaner air, water and land, and healthier ecosystems for Ontarians.
As the Regional Director, you will be responsible for:
• delivering programs to protect air quality and surface and ground water quality and quantity
• managing the disposal of wastes
• controlling the use of pesticides
• strengthening relationships with Aboriginal communities in eastern Ontario and with the ministry’s many other diverse stakeholders

• you have proven leadership experience and a solid track record of delivering results
• you have demonstrated that you can create an inclusive environment, which values innovation and service excellence
• you have experience leading diverse teams in a decentralized model
• you have demonstrated success in managing and achieving change
Operational Leadership:
• you have proven experience in strategic planning and performance measurement
• you have demonstrated experience in managing a large, customer-focused delivery operation with staff located in multiple locations
• you strive to ensure that programs and services are responsive to stakeholder needs
• you have highly effective skills in managing human resources and financial budgets
Stakeholder Management:
• you have superior interpersonal and negotiation skills and can communicate and influence clients within and outside of the Ontario Public Service (OPS) to achieve results
• you foster and maintain strategic and collaborative partnerships with internal OPS and external stakeholders who have diverse agendas
Political Acuity:
• you have proven political acuity and superior strategic management skills
• you have an understanding of public policy processes and priorities
Regional Knowledge:
• you demonstrate an appreciation of regional geographic, cultural and linguistic diversity and issues
Salary range: $115,000.00 – $131,450.00 per annum
