African Entrepreneur Collective (AEC) is committed to
helping talented young African entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create
jobs to lift people out of poverty. Our business accelerator identifies 100
growth-oriented Rwandan entrepreneurs each year and offers them a package of
services including business planning, technical assistance, mentorship, and
affordable capital.

Volunteer mentors are crucial to our ability to help
our entrepreneurs overcome challenges and grow their businesses. AEC is seeking
experienced business professionals from around the world to join our team in
Rwanda and spend 1-3 months testing your professional skills in a challenging new
environment, working direct
ly with an individual entrepreneur. You expertise

Our clients work in a diverse range of industries
including agribusiness, retail, manufacturing, and services. Previous mentors
have helped entrepreneurs streamline workflows, develop client acquisition
strategies, implement cost reduction strategies, and prepare for investor
meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS
AEC is looking for individuals who can bring lasting
impact to our work. We are seeking candidates who will navigate fast-paced and
resource-constrained environments with enthusiasm, patience, and imagination.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Business experience preferred, especially working
with SMEs in the fields of agribusiness, manufacturing, retail, services,
and/or trade in emerging markets - Self-starter, with proven ability to produce
results with light supervision - Track record of leadership, including coaching
and mentoring others - Unrelenting perseverance, personal integrity, and
critical thinking skills - Good humor, patience, and a humble approach to
service - Commitment to the mission of African
Entrepreneurship Collective - Must have own computer
COMPENSATION
Volunteer mentors receive free accommodation at our
comfortable guesthouse in Kigali. All other expenses, including airfare, food,
and personal living expenses, must be paid by the volunteer.
