SECURITY OFFICER (2 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)
Job Purpose
To maintain a safe and secure environment for the Mi
ne, employees and customers
by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
Requirements
Key Activities
- Secures
premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance
equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points and
permitting entry. - Prevents
losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of
policy and procedures and restraining trespassers. - Conducts
investigations and recommends appropriate corrective action. - Completes
reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and
surveillance activities and interviewing witnesses. - Analyses
security related information to identify possible risks and recommend
appropriate actions. - Conducts
security searches. - Liaises
with stakeholders to exchange information related to security risks and
cases - Manages
sub-contractor service level agreements in order to ensure compliance. - Maintains
organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal
requirements. - Contributes
to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. - Adheres
to safety health and environmental policies and procedures
Minimum Education, Training & Experience Requirements
- BGCSE
plus Certificate in Security Management or equivalent coupled with five
years’ experience of which two should be at supervisory level preferably
in a Mining environment. - Valid
Class B drivers licence is a pre-requisite - Knowledge
of SHE management systems (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
