Masindi Municipal Council Principal Community Development Officer Job Vacancy in Uganda

Applications are invited from suitable and eligible Persons to fill vacant posts currently available in various Departments of Masindi Municipal Council, as specified below;

Duties:
• Coordinating the effective delivery of community-based services in the District.
• Ensuring that community centres, vocational training institutions, children remand homes and other community establishments are well managed.
• Monitoring and evaluating the effective implementation of National and Local laws and policies on gender, labour and social development.
• Advising on policy and related matters regarding gender, labour and social development.
• Liaising with NGOs, Community-Based Organisation and other stakeholders on matters regarding community development.

Requirement:
Person Specifications:
• Should have a an honours University Degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Rural Development or Social Work and Social Administration from a recognized university/ institution and a Postgraduate Diploma in a related field.
• Should have a working experience of not less than 6 years in the field of social development or community based services, three of which should have been served at Senior Community Development Officer in Government or a reputable organisation.
• Should have a wide knowledge of community-based activities and social mobilization.
• Should have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Should have the ability to train and motivate subordinate officers.

How to apply:
Applications filled in triplicate on PSC Form 3 (PSF 3) (Revised 2008) should be submitted to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 67, Masindi to be received not later than 22/11/2011. The application forms are obtainable from the Public Service Commission, Farmers’ House, 2nd Floor, Kampala, Chief Administrative Officers’ offices and from the Secretaries, District Service Commission Offices in Uganda.

Applications should bear the title of the post as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.
Applicants should attach a set of 3 photocopies of their academic documents, transcripts, result slips, certificates and other relevant documents plus 3 recent certified passport size photographs. Applicants already in service should route their applications through their Heads of Departments who must be informed of the closing date to avoid delay.
