Background
Makerere University School of Public Health (MUSPH) in collaboration with Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are undertaking a project to establish strong surveillance systems for Most-at-Risk Populations (MARPS) for HIV/AIDS particularly in fishing communities in Uganda. The project based at Makerere University School of Public Health now invites applications for the following position:
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (1 position)
Job Summary:
The role of the Administrative Assistant is to provide administrative & clerical support to project staff and field teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to project staff and field teams
• Logistics management
• Secretarial Services
• Inventory management for supplies and equipment
• Manage the petty cash fund
• coordinate hospitality functions namely: Booking travel, process visa applications, arrange accommodation for programme visitors, organize meetings, workshops etc
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirement:
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/ Business Management or Bachelor of Arts or Social Sciences or Secretarial Services or related field
• Knowledge of office management and administrative practices and principles
• Good numeracy skills
• Capacity to pay attention to detail
• Pleasant, organized and accurate
• Ability to multi task and cope with pressure and multiple deadlines
• Good writing skills
• Ability to establish and maintain cordial and cooperative working relationships with members of staff and field teams
• Proficiency in MS office applications
• Administrative experience with a training programme or NGO, will be an added advantage
