Role:
Overseeing and managing m2m’s programme service delivery for the entire Malawi country operations. The position is based in Lilongwe, reporting to Senior Operations Manager at m2m’s headquarters in Cape Town, South Africa.
Key Performance Areas:
• Manage country programme operations and provide support, supervision and performance management to the Regional Managers
• Manage implementation of m2m annual work plan; implement and manage programme field operations and actively oversee programme expansion and ongoing management
• Coordinate and submit regular reports that describe programme issues/concerns regarding implementation and operation; proposed solutions; and next steps
• Initiate site service quality assessments and other programme innovations to maintain high quality service provision
• Support Country Director in budget preparation in line with work plan and donor requirements and liaise with finance
• Assess and recommend staffing and budgetary requirements for each region
• Directly supervise approximately 3 selected sites m2m sites and 3 Site Coordinators
• In partnership with and Evaluation Coordinator suggest data use for programme decision making; analyze programme data and modify programme activities accordingly
• Support and contribute to the timely submission of high quality donor reports, record-keeping and compliance to relevant donor requirements
• Represent m2m at regional & national level as requested by Country Director
• Liaise closely with HR in HQ to ensure staff development, coaching and mentoring across all levels of the programme team
Key Competencies and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in social science, public health or nursing sciences – Masters degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of Public Health and/or NGO sector and at least 2 years in programme management at senior level
• PMTCT/HIV AIDS programme management or coordination experience at the regional or national level
• Excellent organisational, communication and management skills
• Strong Computer Literacy (Microsoft packages)
• Strong project management and administration experience
• Demonstrated excellent financial management and writing skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to conduct relationships with various senior stakeholders
• Dynamism, independence, creativity
• Fluency in English
• Possession of own car and valid driver’s license
• Willingness to travel throughout the country to support programme implementation
