KTH in Stockholm is the largest and oldest technical university in Sweden. The school of Computer Science and Communication at KTH announces an Associate Professor position in the area of Media Technology with specialization in dynamic and interactive visual media.
The department of Media technology and interaction design is a cross disciplinary group that performs research and education within e.g. media technology and graphic production, human computer interaction and interaction design. Connected to the department are the two centra in visualization and in sustainable communication.
Assignment
Job duties include teaching at undergraduate and master level as well as supervision of doctoral students, and project financed research. The distribution between research and teaching is normally equal.

Media technology with specialization in Dynamic and Interactive Visual Media
Subject description
The subject deals with processes, standards and methods for production of medial services and media content for distribution through various channels for dynamic and interactive visual media. Image and video production is a prioritized area.
Eligibility requirements
Persons eligible for employment as Associate Professor are those who have been awarded a doctor’s degree, or possess scientific expertise of a corresponding nature. Completed courses in teaching and learning in higher education or in some other manner acquired corresponding knowledge, as well as demonstrated teaching skills, is also required. The applicant’s ability to apply for and receive funding for research projects, and the ability to lead education and research activities are special eligibility requirements.
Assessment criteria
Particular emphasis is placed on academic skills in the subject area, documented in presentations and publications in leading conferences and journals. Equal emphasis is placed on the applicant’s skills and ability to plan, lead and perform high quality education on undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level in the subject area.
Experience of and ability to develop and renew pedagogy in the subject area is of great importance. Furthermore, the ability to collaborate with the society at large, and the ability to inform about research and development is of importance. Of special importance is also documented ability to collaborate with other research groups at KTH.
The candidate should be able to teach in both English and Swedish. A candidate that is not able to teach in Swedish from the start is expected to obtain this capability during the first two years of the appointment.
