Komatsu Botswana is looking for a Continues Improvement Engineer

Requirements
Key Outputs
- Lead
continuous improvement (CI) project teams and ensure ROI is maximized,
facilitating information transfer within team and tracking project
progress - Analyze
customers operation utilizing Komtrax Plus and Modular Mining Dispatch
data to report on fleet utilization, down time, equipment matching and
production performance with the aim to identify improvement areas. - Ensure
standardization of Komatsu initiatives while aligning with best practices
globally. - Update
database of local CI projects as well as global CI projects for learning
purposes and benchmarking - Run
production simulations for relevant equipment to suit specific applications. - Gathering,
storing and maintaining of useful database of current equipment
specifications as well as relevant competitor equipment - Conduct
site investigations and application studies at various operations
throughout Botswana to focus on cost/ton reduction initiatives. - Analysis
and reporting of operating cost estimates - Compiling
technical reports and presenting project results to customers - Assisting
Mines, Contract Miners and customers in projects that involve equipment
selection, fleet analysis, maintenance analysis production improvement,
cost reductions etc. - Assisting
in Life Cycle Cost Estimates by carrying out application studies and
producing reports - Compiling
and presenting presentations to customers from an application and
production estimates as well as selection of equipment - Ability
to impart knowledge to all Komatsu staff at site - Analyze
equipment downtime on both R&M as well as non R&M sites to
identify CI projects to reduce costs.

- Licensed
Mechanical Engineer - Knowledgeable
on Komatsu machines structure and function - Able to
perform Komatsu component trouble-shooting, failure analysis and system
repair - Able to
analyze drawings and diagrams - Knowledgeable
on computer operations - Familiar
and has experience on bench working, basic machining and related shop
operations - Strong
leadership skills - Strong
understanding of safety practices
