POST, JOB SPECIFICATION, KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
MEDICAL OFFICERS (12)
• Should be a holder of Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery degree from a recognised institution
• Should have at least two years working experience in a hospital.
• Should be registered with Rwanda Medical Council
• Should be able to perform simple procedures and operations
• Should have good clinical skills
• Should have good communication and interpersonal relationship with patients and peers
• Committed to delivery of Customer focused health care
• Should ensure that patients investigations are performed as required, and ensure that the results are placed in the patients records
• Should follow patients progress
• Should follow protocols that are used in the department
• Participate in Quality Assurance programs
• Should report all new and critical patients to the respective Specialist in the wards;
• Should do a bedside handover of all patients to the colleague taking over after duty.
• Is expected to participate in C.M.E and prepare material for presentation
• Should participate in research or others when deemed necessary by the hospital authorities
REGISTERED NURSES (20)
• He/She have a diploma ( A1) in Nursing/Midwifery
• He/She should have a minimum of 3 years of working experience especially in ICU& Paediatric will be an added advantage
• Effective communication skills
• Committed to delivery of Customer focused health care
• Teaching & management skills is an added advantage
• Carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessment
• Accept accountability and responsibility for own actions within nursing practice
• Acts to enhance the professional development of self and others

• Practices in accordance with the professional’s code of ethics
ADMISSIONS OFFICER (2)
• He/ She should be a diploma holder (A1) in Accounting, commerce or related field
• Should have a minimum of three years of experience of clerical/accounting work
• Skills and experience in Customer handling is an added advantage
• Register and enter patients profile in computer and order for patients file from the filling unit as required
• Ensure that files are complete: charge sheets, history form, prescription form and collect stickers.
• Collect money from clients based on the approved tariff of the hospital.
• Balance the amount Collect money from the clients based on the approved the approved tariff of the hospital.
• Issue receipts for the money collected from clients.
• Help patients by providing relevant information to them about the service they need (orientation/Triage).
WAITER/WAITRESS (1)
• He/She should be at least a senior six certificate holder (A2) in hotel Management Should have two years experience in hotel industry working as a waiter/waitress
• Should be customer care centred
• Maintain and clean all work areas, kitchen equipment and utensils to the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene required by the Hospital
• Make stock take and hand over for the equipment left to another shift.
• Understands and abide by all safety rules, emergency procedures and fire regulations of catering department.
• Clearing off all plates and other service equipments from the patients without any disturbance
CUSTOMER CARE MANAGER (1)
• He/She should have a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration/social Sciences or any related domain. A Masters degree is an added advantage.
• He/She should have a minimum of 3 years of working experience in customer care or conflict Management
• Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures for career counselling and guidance
• Knowledge of Human Behaviour and performance, individual differences in ability, personality and interests.
• Ability to handle complaints in a professional manner
• Ability to manage stress
• Ability to lead by example
• Experience in health care environment is added advantage.
• Advise management on Customer care strategies and customer retention
• Achieving Excellent through Customer Services;

• He/she is responsible for upholding excellent customer care measures in the Hospital.
• Ensure proper management of emergency cases and orientation of clients in the hospital.
• Manage patient flow, Coordinate with Doctors and ensure that patients are attended to promptly respecting the appointment schedule.
• Give a monthly report on the waiting time of patient at all step of care from the reception to end of services.
• Ensure that the appointment system works properly, manage problems that may arise by liaising with concerned officers.
PERSONAL ASSISTANT OF THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (1)
• Should have a bachelors degree in Law/ Public Administration
• Should have three years of working experience
• Should have a team working spirit
• Take care of incoming phone calls and follow up with appropriate persons.
• Prepare all correspondences within a defined area.
• Organize and prepare internal and external meetings for the CEO and take minutes when needed.
• Ability to give the legal advice on different cases
• Prepare presentations and reports as required by the CEO.
• Follow up all in coming mails or any other additional documents from within or outside the organisation addressed to the CEO’s office.
• Be in position to promote the corporate image of the institution with the office of the CEO and handle communication with clients within and outside the organization
STATISTICIAN (1)
• Should have a minimum of a University degree (A0) in Statistics, or other very similar qualifications.
• Should have knowledge of Rwanda disease profile and medical terminologies.
• Have an experience of at least 3 years in the field of medical data management.
• Should be fluent in English and French. Knowledge of both languages is an added advantage.
• Have knowledge of how to use the following software:
• – Epi-Info
• – SPSS
• – MS access
• – Microsoft office applications, eg. Excel, word, etc
• Manage data management programs for KFH medical data.
• Do statistical analyses for routine hospital medical data, make conclusions and present monthly and annual reports to the director of clinical services.
• Propose appropriate measures for improving clinical services in accordance with results of medical data analysis.
• Participate in designing annual operational plans.
• Participate in designing research protocols and data analysis for all research activities in KFH.
• Organise and carry out training for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in research methodologies, and the use of appropriate data management software like PSS, Epi-info, etc.
RESEARCHER (1)
• Master’s degree in Health related field from accredited medical school
• 5 years experience doing actual research familiar with research funding sources like NIH or Pfizer
• Have an experience of at least 3 years in the field of medical data management.
• Should be fluent in English and French. Knowledge of both languages is an added advantage.
• Provides Medical research directions
• Provides interface with research sponsors/funding organizations
• Provides support to individual; searcher/research projects
• Coordinates with the management for the smooth and effective operations
• Takes overall responsibility for performing clinical research and trials and ensures that are conducted in accordance with GCP and all SOPs
• Has to establish audit procedures and ensure that data for research is being entered properly and accurately
• He may have to participate in meetings of corporate research teams and ensure that his colleagues are aware of relevant issues
• Ha has to develop systems for the tracking of projects, including all investigator, ethical review board information, study, financial management and patient recruitment activity
• He negotiates contracts with sites, laboratories, and other outside vendors
• He has to train the sales representatives for product launches and cycle meetings
• He also has to assume full responsibility for financially managing the clinical research program including resource allocation, preparation of reports and budget planning
• He writes presentations and scientific articles about the products and research results for workshops, international congresses, scientific journals or marketing purposes

ORTHOPEDIC CLINICAL OFFICER (1)
• Should have a diploma in orthopedic or related field.
• Should be able to work independently and under supervision of Orthopedic Surgeon,
• Should be able to apply tractions in the Wards
• Should have the ability to attend the ward rounds with the Orthopedic Surgeon;
• Working in Theatre together with orthopedic Surgeon during Operations
• Be able to manage patients with talipes Equino Varus (Club Foot)
• Able to use different Braces for Spine and limbs
• Bee able to use a C-ARM
PHARMACISTS (3)
• Degree in Pharmacy (AO)
• At least two years of clinical pharmacy duties in a hospital or in a private pharmacy
• Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, indications, dosage, potential interactions, route of administration and stability of dosage form.
• Makes recommendations for therapy changes to the prescriber as appropriate.
• Maintains patient database to include appropriate current and past medical history, appropriate clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medication (including over-the-counter and home remedies).
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide clinical and technical support as needed.
• Evaluates and monitors patient’s pharmacotherapy plan: Checks for drug/drug, drug/food, drug/lab, and drug/disease interactions.
• Reviews, evaluates, and consults with patients and other health care providers on issues relating to drug related problems and optimal drug therapy.
• Checks to prevent allergic or adverse drug reactions and reports them through appropriate channels. Reviews and interprets medication histories in order to make recommendations regarding drug therapy or the process of drug delivery to other health care providers.
• To adhere to the pharmacy duty rosters especially with regard to after office hours dispensing and weekend coverage
OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIANS (2)
• A1 ophthalmic technician with at least one year experience
• Basic A2 training: Nursing
• Good customer care skills
• To perform Visual acuity testing including pin hole
• To be able to assist the ophthalmologist in theatre
• To take care of ophthalmic instruments using appropriate sterile procedures
• To instill eye medications as prescribed by the ophthalmologist
• To screen patients to recognize ophthalmic emergencies and take appropriate measures
• To perform Visual field testing
• To work with the pharmacist in order to monitor ophthalmic consumables stock
PHARMACY DISPENSERS
• Training as a Pharmaceutical Technologist (Diploma or Level A1)
• At least two years experience working in a hospital or commercial pharmacy
• To process and dispense outpatient prescriptions and inpatient medication orders as prescribed by clinicians taking into account
• To contact the prescribing clinician if there are any issues to be clarified regarding the prescription
• To ensure that the prescriptions and medication orders are accurately posted into the hospital computer system
• To counsel and instruct patients on all drug and medicine related issues such as
• To advise doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff on all issues related to drugs and drug use in the hospital to ensure safety, efficacy and economy in drug utilization in the hospital
• To supply wards and other departments with drugs and surgical sundries following the laid down procedures on drug issues to departments and ensure accountability
• To participate, if required, in all ward based pharmacy activities under the supervision of the clinical or chief pharmacist
• To adhere to the pharmacy duty rosters especially with regard to after office hours dispensing and weekend coverage.
