CHF International is seeking an experienced Project Director with strong skills in managing Emergency
Response programs to oversee an anticipated WASH and shelter program in Nimba County in Liberia. This program will seek to respond to the refugee crisis by providing shelter and WASH assistance to refugees and host families in communities in Nimba County.
Under the supervision of CHF Liberia’s Country Director and in close coordination with the Chief of Party of CHF’s WASH project in Liberia, the Project Director will be responsible for overall management of project strategy/implementation and administration, ensuring that all project deliverables are met on time and within budget. The Project Director will supervise project staff, including operations and support staff. The anticipated duration of this program is up to one year.
Qualifications:
• Advanced Degree in related field
• Minimum 10 years experience in international development and emergency response, with minimum 8 years of project management experience working with multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary staff in an NGO. Overseas experience required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience managing OFDA funded programs strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with government officials, local and international NGOs, community members and contractors in a complex environment.
• Prior experience in Liberia or regional experience strongly preferred.
• Fluency in spoken and written English required, proficiency in second language preferred.
• Willingness to live and work with diverse cultures, social economic contexts, and under extremely difficult conditions. Must be able to travel independently.
