IT Project Manager Job Vacancy in Clare

We are recruiting an IT Project Manager for a global organisation based in Shannon Co. Clare. The successful candidate will be responsible for Managing Group IT Projects with the Enterprise Applications & Development Team, with specific though not exclusive emphasis on the organisation’s suite of Enterprise systems.
Key Performance Areas:

Project Management
• Provides high level project management capability to a portfolio of multi disciplined Group System projects with reference to priority determination, resource allocation, budgetary considerations and the review and achievement of agreed milestones.
• Provides focus and direction to the Business/Systems Analysts who manage projects.
• Anticipates and takes measures to prevent the derailment of projects.

Business Analysis
• Leads and/or participates in, evaluation of Business requirements from both a technical and business perspective, translation of these requirements into project plans and specifications for delivery of quality, tested applications that support the corporate business goals.

Systems Development
• Interfaces with the Development team and External Suppliers to provide systems and/or development capability for the introduction of new/modified applications into the business. In addition undertakes unit testing performance and recording and deployment of test environment for client testing. Ensures that budgets are adhered to and deadlines met along with defined standards and procedures.

ERP Support
• Responsible for the management of Pre and Post Go Live application support for both the Implementation teams and live sites. This includes the commissioning of the application environment for a multi-national multi-lingual thin client roll-out, the management of issues, liaising with the Plant management to develop and agree on Service Level agreements and monitoring and reporting on a scheduled basis.

Education / Experience required for the job:
Primary Degree in an appropriate Engineering or IT discipline together with 10 years experience in a multi-national Manufacturing and Distribution environment – three of which should be in a project management capacity. Should have an inherent knowledge of Manufacturing business processes as well as strong communication, motivation and interpersonal skills. A broad based knowledge of all aspects of IT and emerging technologies is desirable to complement this role, although experience of working with ERP systems is desirable (JD Edwards preferable).
