IT Director
Position Summary:
The IT Director is responsible for developing and implementing the technology strategy to support the school’s mission. Working collaboratively with academic, administrative and IT staff, you will direct the IT team to provide the infrastructure, systems, service, education and leadership to ensure the effective use of technology that will enhance teaching and learning. You bring a supportive leadership and hands-on management style to guide a small team to succeed in its goals.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure that the infrastructure and software systems provide a stable and secure environment in support of school wide educational and operational goals.
* Mentor and develop a strong IT team, with a firm commitment to service excellence.
* Maximize the effectiveness of IT investment, by developing a keen understanding of systems functionality and the appropriate application to Havergal’s needs.
* Take a leadership role in future technological change for the school’s long-term systems and telephony needs.
* Maintain ongoing understanding of technological trends and their implications for the future of teaching and learning.
* Participate actively in the integration of technology in curriculum from JK to Gr 12.
* Develop long term IT plan that is in alignment with the school’s strategic and financial plans; establish, execute and monitor annual IT budgets.
* Maintain positive relationships with vendors.
* Develop policies, procedures and standards relating to information systems.
Required Skills:
* Post-secondary education in computer science/engineering or related discipline.
* Experience working in an educational environment strongly desired; teaching credentials would be an asset.
* Strong communication and leadership skills.
* Solid track record of performance as a forward thinking technology partner.
* Proven strengths in building and sustaining positive working relationships with involved and committed stakeholders.
