As against what has been trending on different social media platform and many news reports, John Okafor, a.k.a Mr Ibu, the popular Nollywood comic actor, has come out to say that he is not down with stroke and he had never at anything had stroke in his life.
John Okafor who is aged 56 made this statement to his fans and those peddling rumours that he is down with stroke in a video posted on his Instagram page on Thursday, 4th April, 2019 when he was seen embracing his wife. He debunked the rumours that he was down with stroke and stated that he is hale and hearty.
He however, stated that he was disappointed by the social media reports and news media peddling what he described as “wicked rumours” of him being down with stroke and stated that he has handed over those peddling the wicked rumours against him to God.
In the video, he stated thus, “Oh God! People are saying that I have stroke that I am down with stroke, why? How can you announce somebody’s sickness and you have many, you don’t even announce one. I don’t have any stroke please. This is my wife, my humble wife. Well, we hand over everything to God.”
This video which was posted by John Okafor was in response to rumour on social media and different news media reporting that he was struck by a mysterious stroke shortly after he returned from a recent trip to Owerri the Imo State capital.
The reports on different social media and other news media stated that John Okafor has been taken to an undisclosed traditional doctor and is responding to treatment. Some of the reports even alleged that the President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas confirmed the new of John Okafor being down with stoke and added that he was responding to treatment.
The news of John Okafor being down with stroke was very worrying to his fans as they were anticipating his earlier announced Hollywood project with Eddie Murphy, the Hollywood comic actor which many say will be a blast.
