leading sustainable development and conservation NGOs in Sub Saharan Africa

Development Internship (Uganda)

Position
Overview:

Based in the town of
Jinja this internship will provide support to the environment and public health
projects run through the NGO.  Based within a joint Ugandan and
International team, your role will include developing the projects with Ugandan
staff, writing the proposals enabling these to gain funding, supporting with
the implementation of projects and evaluating their success.  The
internship is predominantly office based, and the diversity of activities which
will be undertaken provide a complete training for a development professional
who can effectively and efficiently deal with a comprehensive range of tasks
related to the complex world of overseas development work.

Timeframe: 12 months extendable

Probationary
period:

3 months

preparation, editing and writing; information formatting; development of new

Required
skills:

The successful
applicant will:

  • Hold an
    undergraduate/Masters degree in or relating to international development,
    environmental studies, finance, economics, public/community health or
    WASH, or have equivalent experience in any area relating to the role
