Finance Officer
Position
Overview
Reporting to the Finance Manager (FM), the role holder will be responsible for
Accounts Payable processing and reconciliation, Staff travel advances,
Inventory management and attending to clerical needs related to the management
and filing of financial documentation. The role holde
r will be based in
Gaborone, Botswana.
Requirements
General
Roles and Responsibilities for this role include to:-
- Receive
and record invoices and documentation relating to procurement of goods and
services - Ensure
accurate and timely capture of all supplier invoices into the accounting
system - Ensure
that records are complete and follow I-TECH policies and donor regulations; - Maintain
vendor accounts, monitor accounts to ensure payments and bills are up to
date and prepare monthly reconciliations of supplier accounts; - Assist
with preparation of monthly reports submissions and reconciliations; - Receive,
reconcile and record travel advance settlements forms and invoices and
follow up on outstanding travel advances reconciliations and
reimbursements within set time limits - Ensure
petty cash transactions are properly registered, monitored, replenished,
and reported in the accounting system - maintain
the Inventory register; - Support
the development and maintenance of all financial filing systems - Prepare
monthly VAT returns for submission to BURS - Perform
other reasonable duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required
Qualifications, Skills and attributes:-
- Professional
qualification part qualified CPA/CIMA/ACCA or fully qualified AAT
(Association of Accounting Technicians) - A
thorough command of financial computer software preferably QuickBooks - At
least 3 years’ experience in a similar position - Proficiency
in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Detail-oriented
and sensitive to confidential information - Excellent
communication skills and ability to work as part of a team - Experience
with working in the NGO sector will be an added advantage
