region maintains its long standing track record of environmental leadership in
Ontario. The Executive Director is responsible for the successful guidance and
management of GreenUP in accordance with the strategic direction set by the
Board of Directors.

• Work
  with the Board of Directors and lead staff to develop a vision and
  strategic plan to guide the organization and to articulate that vision
  within and outside the organization
• Foster
  effective team work and communication at all levels to maintain a strong
  culture of employee engagement, as well as oversee the human resources
  management function
• Act
  as a spokesperson for the organization
• Collaborate
  with staff and Board Members in budget preparations, ongoing financial
  reviews, and securing adequate funding for the operation of the
  organization including assistance in the preparation of grant applications
• Seek
  out new and maintain existing partnerships, including collaborative
  arrangements, funders, municipalities, various government agencies, and
  local businesses
• Oversee
  the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organization’s
  programs and services ensuring all move forward in accordance with the
  strategic plan

• Post
  secondary degree or diploma in related field combined with five years or
  more demonstrated leadership experience, including direct supervision of
  staff in the not-for-profit sector
• Demonstrated
  experience in areas of fund development and/or fundraising, proposal/grant
  application writing and evaluation, project management, finance, human
  resources management, and administration
• Experience
  with the environmental sector is preferred
• Knowledge
  of federal and provincial legislation applicable to not-for-profit
  organizations
