Background
Green Giant Design Build is a growing company specializing in pre-fabricated
residential construction adhering to Passive House standards. Our products
include: thermal-bridge free structura
l raft slabs, cellulose-insulated
pre-fabricated walls, pre-installed triple glazed windows/doors, and
high-efficiency HRV and ERV ventilation systems. Together these products meet
the stringent requirements of the International Passive House Standard, and
reduce energy consumption by 90% compared to conventional building stock.
Our new 13,000 ft production facility is located within a World War II aircraft
hanger in Picton, ON, in the heart of Prince Edward County.

should be available to everyone. As such, Green Giant Design Build provides
high-quality, energy-efficient homes at a cost comparable to standard new
homes. We want to change the way all Canadians live, and demonstrate that
quantifiable energy-efficient structures can — and should — be the national
standard.
Position Description
We are looking for a creative, adaptable and forward-thinking Structural
Engineer who can grow with our company. We want you to be involved in all
stages of project completion, from design to implementation in the field. We
value innovation and are looking for someone who is as passionate about
changing the status-quo as we are.
The position will require the applicant to:
• Prepare stamped drawings for Raft Slab Foundation Systems
• Prepare stamped drawings for Insulated Structural Wall Panels
• Inspect and prepare quality verification certificates prior to delivery of
wall panels
• Help design production equipment and optimize manufacturing layout and design
process
Skills
The successful applicant will have:
• Knowledge of structural concrete design, wood-frame construction, quality
verification
• Practical building experience
• Energy modelling and fundamentals of building science are considered an asset
Working knowledge of software, including:
• AutoCad
• PHPP (Passive House Planning Package)
• DesignPH (Sketch-Up plug-in)
• THERM
• WUFI
• WINDOW
• Proprietary truss software
Compensation
$70,000 – $85,000/year
