Our client is a leading consulting firm for global financial services companies. It is currently looking to expand its client-facing Privacy and Data Protection Advisory team.
The team helps its clients successfully address the regulatory challenges of handling people’s information, so they can manage their compliance obligations and reduce their reputational risk.
You will be working alongside of leading privacy and data protection practitioners including ex-regulators, former blue chip data protection directors and experienced consultants. The work will educate you to a high level knowledge of privacy and data protection regulation, and an understanding of the practical challenges in managing these requirements in a commercial and multi-national environment.
Our client is looking to recruit a team member to help deliver its projects and be part of a dynamic and growing practice.
Typical activities include:
• Preparation of research, preliminary analysis and report drafting using in-house databases, subscription services, journals and independent research including:
o Comparative analysis of data protection and confidentiality rules across different jurisdictions
o Review of regulatory and commercial developments including analysis of new enforcement proceedings, legislation, industry codes and standards, market practices and technology
• Supporting the development of client proposals, engagement letters and presentations
• Drafting of articles, newsletters, briefings and updates internal and external recipients
• Attendance of relevant industry/subject matter events, conferences and workshops
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required
-Upper second class degree
-Excellent written skills with particular attention to detail
-Research capability with good analytical skills
-Good level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet and PC based research)
-Interest in data protection/privacy issues and regulatory developments across both FS and non-FS industries.
Preferred
-Law degree
-Second European language
-Experience/knowledge of UK and/or International data protection laws and regulations
-Knowledge/understanding of Information Technology / Information Security
