it organization founded in 2006 to promote the
successful care and development of orphans and vulnerable children in
Malawi. Since then, GFG has reached almost 80,000 children at
risk. GFG is transforming orphan care by economically empowering
CBOs supporting orphans and vulnerable children. It does so by
launching medium-sized, on-site businesses at the CBOs, called community
enterprises that generate ongoing income and fund orphan care programs
In
the coming months GFG plans to launch a CBO Capacity Building program, Through
this program we will roll out individualized capacity building programs at each
of our 10 partner CBOs. These programs could include but are not
limited to Early Childhood Education, Psychosocial Support, Youth Corner, CBO
Management and Sexual Education

The
CBM will design and lead all CBO capacity building work including but not
limited to Early Childhood Education, Psychosocial Support, Youth Corner, CBO
Management, and Sexual Education. This person must be a strong
communicator, highly organized, able to take initiative, design, implement and
monitor programs on their own

The
CBM is based in Malawi and will work closely with our 8 person team in
Malawi. The program manager will report to the Chief Operating
Officer and the Executive Director who are based in New York

Program
Planning and Execution – Design and implement GFG’s capacity buildings programs
in accordance with GFG’s mission and goals, Manage continuous program
evaluation and impact tracking, Budget, track and report on program-related
funds on a monthly and annual basis, Identify and research new growth areas for
the Capacity Building Program, Nurture and empower local leaders at every phase
of program

Resource
Mobilisation and Partnership Development- Proactively foster strategic
collaborations with other NGOs and govt depts., Work with the Director of
Development to prospect grants in Malawi, Develop reports to support grants
solicited in the US, Oversee the management of any in-kind donations and
communications with these partners

Language
proficiency in Chichewa required, Ability to motivate and evaluate community
volunteers and staff, Foster team-oriented environment, Ability to handle
multiple time- sensitive tasks simultaneously and prioritise tasks
appropriately, Exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills including
the ability to communicate effectively with people of varied
professional/cultural backgrounds, Minimum of 5 yrs of diverse capacity
building experience at the community level, Undergraduate Degree and formal
training in relevant capacity building vectors required, graduate Degree in
relevant field preferred.
