PURPOSE:
PURPOSE:
The
Nutrition and WASH Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination and
technical oversight to USAID TurengereAbana nutrition and WASH activities.
He/She will provide coordination guidance, technical support and training to
field staff to enable them to carry out project activities efficiently and
effectively, and will closely monitor the progress of project implementation.
He/she will have overall responsibility for technical support, monitoring &
evaluation and reporting for the nutrition and WASH component activities and
will insure that the program is achieving the expected results and objectives
with regard to nutrition and WASH component. He/she will ensure that the
activities related to Nutrition and WASH and program approaches (CBNP, PDH,
BIAT and ISLGs) are implemented following the standards of FXB Rwanda, MoH and
USAID in the area of Nutrition and WASH and that the approaches spread by the
program are effectively disseminated and adopted by served HHs.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Initiate
and Coordinate the implementation of the interventions of Nutrition and
WASH activities within the program covered area in compliance with the
policies and regulations of FXB Rwanda, MoH and USAID; - Coordinate
and monitor trainings of Community Health Worker, PLHIV,
lactating and pregnant women and other different target groups on
key HIV/AIDS behavioral change, health, nutrition and hygiene topics
especially to reduce malnutrition and mitigate the impact of HIV/AIDS
among PLHA, Orphans and Vulnerable children; - Identify
training and capacity needs of staff under his/her supervision and
organize training, mentoring and coaching as necessary; - Coordinate
data collection regarding nutrition and WASH activities and ensure
accuracy of data entry and filing of supporting documents at the field
level
- Coordinate
the promotion of Farmer Field School (FFS) for pregnant and
lactating mothers, children and PLHA as well as regular tracking of
health and nutritional status information for both PLHIV and under five
for potential referrals by taking their body mass index; - Coordinate
the formation and trainings of Internal Savings and Lending Groups (ISLGs)
among program beneficiaries; - Coordinate
and supervise WASH activities at the district level to ensure that
targeted households have improved latrines, hand washing stations and
improved hygienic conditions; - Support
effective working relationships with the Ministry of Health (MoH), other
relevant government authorities and other partners engaged in the field of
nutrition;
- Participate
in different meetings organized by other partners involved in nutrition
and health activities; - Participate
in preparation and organization of quarterly and cluster meetings
with local authorities, health centers representatives and CHWs; - Coordinate
the elaboration of program work plan related to Nutrition and WASH
activities at National as well at district level; - Prepare
and submit data and narrative reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly and
annual) relating to nutrition and WASH activities on timely basis; - Ensure
proper use of project assets under his / her responsibility; - Ensure
that payments made under nutrition / WASH are in accordance
with finance and administrative procedures; - Ensure
that vehicle logbooks and timesheets are maintained; - Maintain
inventory of Nutrition / WASH equipment and assets . - Work
with other departments namely Finance and Monitoring and Evaluation to
ensure timely procurement of materials and tools required for the
nutrition and WASH component project activities.

COMPETENCES
COMPETENCES
- Minimum
of a bachelor’s Degree in nutrition and related field; - At
least 3 years of experience in similar position; - Excellent
verbal and written communication skills in English and Kinyarwanda - Computer
literate to a high standard in Microsoft Office - Excellent
capacity to analyze, treat data and share information and knowledge of
data analysis software (SPSS, Stata); - Experience
in USAID funded programs is an added advantage
