Duties:
* Maintenance and repair of all equipment related to building services
* Inspection, installation and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures throughout the Hospital
* Responds to emergency maintenance situations and takes corrective action
* Maintains familiarity with all building systems to perform preventative maintenance program and maintains records
* Estimates material requirements and related costs for repairs and new installations
* Performs a variety of maintenance functions to ensure the continuous, safe and efficient operation of all areas of the Hospital
* Installation and testing of backflow devices
* Performs other duties as assigned or as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Grade 12 or equivalent
* Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Must have a current Ontario Ministry Certificate in the Plumber trade and a Certified Backflow Prevention Testers course combined with 3-5 years related experience
* Must have a level of fitness suitable to perform the manual tasks of this position
* Must have a positive work record and a good attendance record is essential
