Free The Children
seeks a driven and experienced Manager
of Canadian Business Development who will report directly to
the Associate Director, Business Development, Free The Children. The candidate
should have at least two years of experience working in fundraising,
sponsorship, corporate partnerships, and/or sales, demonstrate an a
bility to
manage programs and relationships, and have previous experience in a
leadership/management capacity.

The position is
based out of Free The Children’s International office in Toronto (233 Carlton
Street). A minimum two-year commitment is expected. There is a three (3) month
probationary period, upon reaching the three (3) month period, all staff
members are offered a health plan including dental and Employee Assistant
Program.

Responsibilities:
- Identify,
research, and prospect new sponsorship opportunities and partnerships
across all We Day markets within Canada - In
conjunction with the Associate Director, Business Development, Free The
Children, support the development and implementation of strategy for
Canadian sponsorship and new business - Foster
relationships with prospective corporate donors at all levels - In
conjunction with the Corporate Engagement & Grants team, research and
develop presentations and proposals to secure new partnerships - Assist
in delivering in-person presentations with prospective sponsors to secure
new partnerships - Work
closely with the Sponsorship Activation team, assist in developing the
sponsorship activations for current partners - Support
with the implementation of strategy for the reengagement of existing
sponsors in conjunction with the Partnership Relations team - Assist
with preparing market research - Assist
with preparing donor updates and reporting - Assist
with managing significant donor files - Communicate
knowledgably and professionally to donor base, addressing inquiries about
international programs and account summaries - Administrative
responsibilities related to sponsorship management, including maintaining
our internal database and supporting project tracking - Attend
and represent the organization at fundraising and networking events - Attend
all We Day events within Canada
Reporting
and Relationships:
- This
position will reside within the Free The Children Business Development
Team, and will also work closely with the Sponsorship Activation and
Partner Relations teams - The
Manager, Canadian Business Development, Free The Children will report
directly to the Associate Director, Business Development, Free The
Children
Skills and
Qualifications:
- Possess
a degree/qualification, preferably in business administration, marketing,
or a related field with a minimum of two years working experience
- Highly
self – motivated and independent, a strategic thinker - Detail
oriented with strong attention to effective task completion - Experience
managing a team of staff or volunteers - Strong
inter-personal skills - Enjoys
working in a demanding, fast paced work environment and flexible with work
hours - Able
to perform well and problem solve in high stress, dynamic and changing

and adaptable to change - Comfortable
working with and delegating to senior management; - Comfortable
working with external stakeholders - Positive

understanding of and experience working with Microsoft Office Suites (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Experience
working with Salesforce is an asset - Fluency
in French and Spanish is beneficial but not required - Ability
to work closely with high level sponsors and corporate partners with the
highest level of professionalism - Ability
to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Proven
experience in fundraising, sponsorship, sales, or corporate partnerships - Strong
oral communication and presentation skills
- Excellent
time management, organization and multi-tasking skills
