FRASERS Editorial Intern Job Vacancy in Canada


 Editorial Intern 
Are you a recent journalism or communications
graduate or current student? Are you a web-savvy writer who’s passionate about
the intersection of digital media, journalism and business? Then we want to
hear from you! Business Information Group, the largest b2b magazine publisher
in Canada, has an immediate need for an editorial intern to write content for
FRASERS, one of our flagship manufacturing websites, beginning in November for
four months with the possibility of longer-term involvement.
We’re looking f

or someone who is a
self-starter and is comfortable pitching, curating and writing stories on
behalf of b2b companies who are our clients. Students will be paid for this
internship on a $15 per article basis (300-350 words per article). We are
seeking a steady stream of 6-7 articles per business day over this 4 month
term. You have the opportunity to work from home or at Business Information
Group offices in Toronto (at Don Mills and York Mills). A computer will not be
provided.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
  • Writing
    and posting product news articles online
  • Writing
    the occasional whitepaper on demand from clients (You will be paid an
    additional fee for this)
  • Writing
    more in-depth Articles that include video (You will be paid an additional
    fee for this)
  • Contacting
    and following up with vendors for story ideas, content and approvals
  • Curating
    appropriate content from newswires and clients’ websites, and re-writing
    and annotating content to produce “How to” articles that will engage
    potential buyers of their products
  • Planning
    and project managing stories well in advance of publication dates
  • Assisting
    with email newsletter production and distribution
  • Using
    social media to promote content
  • Working
    closely with SEO team to analyze traffic numbers and optimize them
  • Other
    duties as needed

  • Writing,
    editing, and communication skills
  • Strong
    project management skills
  • HTML
    and basic web design experience
  • The
    ability to multi-task and work independently on time-sensitive projects
  • Ability
    to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Attention
    to detail
  • An
    eagerness to learn new skills and research the subject matter
  • Preferred
    knowledge of SEO/SEM/Google Analytics
