The Minerals Commission is a government agency established under Article 269 of the 1992 Constitution and the Minerals Commission Act. The Minerals Commission as the main promotional and regulatory body for the minerals sector in Ghana, is responsible for “the regulation and management of the utilization of the mineral resources of Ghana and the coordination of the policies in relation to them”.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ghanaians for the vacant position in the Inspectorate Division of Minerals Commission.

Job Vacancy: Senior Finance Officer

Job Description:
Financial Reports:
• Monthly receipts and expenditure returns
• Monthly Draft Financial Statements using the virtual Accountmate Software (VAM)
• Reconciliation of the Division’s Bank Accounts and Journalise all adjustments on monthly basis into the General Ledger Control Accounts

Managements Reports:
• Monthly management report covering the Division’s Bank Balances, Reserves, Receipts and Payments
• Verification and Passing of payment Vouchers for onward submission to the Principal Accountant and Chief Inspector of Mines for Authorisation and Approval
• Verification of expenditure coding for posting to the General Ledger

Required Job Experience:
• Be a Ghanaian citizen and at least thirty (30) years of age
• Possess a minimum qualification of 1st Degree in Accounting and or equivalent professional qualification
• Have not less than 6 years professional experience in the Public or Private sector
