Job description:
Our client, a multinational medical device company, currently has a vacancy for an Environmental Health & Safety Officer. This is a temporary role based at their Limerick facility for approximately five to six months.
We are interested in hearing from candidates with the following background and experience:
o Relevant third level Health and Safety qualification and/or Environmental Science qualification.
O Three to four years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
O Knowledge on CE certification of equipment.
O Knowledge and experience of Occupational / Industrial hygiene.
o The ability to maintain confidentiality.
O Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
O Strong knowledge of compute software.
O Availability and willingness to travel on company business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
o Carry out risk analysis and implement appropriate control measures.
O Implement and update Health and Safety procedures as required.
O Develop training programmes and provide training on health and safety issues to all company personnel.
O Advise department managers on health and safety issues relevant to their particular department.
O Ensure compliance with statutory legislation and internal policies and procedures.
O Ensure that all records are properly maintained.
O Generate reports in a timely and efficient manner
o Liaise with external Environmental Health and Safety Agencies eg. HSA.
O Coordinate site environmental team and implement Waste Management Plan.
O Ensure compliance with WEEE and Waste Packaging Directives for Europe.
O Monitor trade effluent licence for the Plant.
O Ensure that Company’s code of conduct is complied with in all business matters carried out on Company’s behalf.
