Our client is currently to recruit a graduate microbiologist, ideally with 6 months industry experience. The Graduate Microbiologist will report to the Group Microbiology Manager. They will be responsible for formulation review and preservative efficacy testing for the Colour Category.
The Job is based in Ireland but may involve travel.
Primary Responsibilities
1) Planning and performing preservative efficacy testing (PET)
2) Preparing all media, reagents and test-organisms relevant to PET
3) Performing routine testing of raw materials and other cosmetic samples as required
4) Tabulating and reviewing test results with the Departmental Microbiologists
5) Issuing PET results to Formulation Chemists
6) General laboratory housekeeping and stock control
7) Representative of Microbiology at internal meetings
8) Maintenance of the microbiology testing equipment
9) Updating testing procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
10) Providing support to the Microbiology team with research and development projects
Experience
Honours degree in Microbiology or a related scientific discipline.
Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role in a regulated cGMP environment.
