applications for the role of interim Environmental Health Officer to work for a
metropolitan council located in the CBD. This council is one of the
fastest growing municipalities and offers the chance for genuine career
development and advancement for the successful candidate.
As the council’s Environmental Health Officer you will be reporting directly
into the Service Manager and will actively assist in regulating, enforcing and
monitoring laws and regulations governing public health and environmental
management in order to promote good health, hygiene and environmental
practices.
Duties will include:
• Investigate complaints about food safety and ensure health regulations are
adhered to
• Initiate and conduct environmental health impact or risk assessments
• Inspect and license premises
• Maintain records, prepare statistics, write reports and give evidence where
required
• Enforce environmental laws
• Compliance and enforcement
• Noise control and enforcement
Requirements include:
• Ideally gained exposure within local government
• Degree in Applied Science or Health Sciences
• Victorian drivers license
