We are now seeking a highly motivated and pro-active Deputy Payroll Manager to help manage their 5000+ staff payroll. Reporting to the payroll manager the applicant will be required to take responsibility for the administration and processing of high volume payrolls from start to finish.
• On a day to day basis you will manage a team of 5 payroll specialists, In the absence of the payroll manager.
• Ensuring the team meet monthly payroll deadlines and targets.
• Produce weekly payroll KPI’s for operations and financial management teams
• Reconcile all pay-groups for Tax and National Insurance payments
• Provide management reports on aspects of monthly payroll, additional payments made and salary changes other than annual review etc
• Payroll financial reporting
• Raise payment requests in line with HMRC deadlines
• HMRC – End of Year preparation; P35 and P14/60’s Maintain P11D records and complete returns as necessary, as well as the Class 1A Payment Due
• Up to date legislative knowledge which will need to be communicated to the team Provided support to new outlet openings arranging meetings between payroll specialist and store management in order to facilitate Service Level Agreements
• Ensured that the in-house databases in respect of HR, Expenses and IT are maintained with starters and leaver records being added and deleted promptly
Who We are Looking For:
• An enthusiastic individual with experience at Manager/Supervisor level of managing/running payroll department.
• Advanced working knowledge of HMRC rules regarding payroll including PAYE/NIC.
• Ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines.
• High level of numeracy.
• Strong excel skills are imperative.
• Applicant must have strong knowledge of all current legislation,
• Ideally the successful applicant will hold or be studying for a CIPP Diploma.
