To achieve the outcomes required by this role, you
must be able to:

Contribute to activities that assist in the
responsible management and use of the State’s natural resources in
accordance with the Department’s legislative responsibilities;
Advise, liaise, consult and negotiate with
departmental clients, all levels of government, and other organisations on
natural resource management issues;
Assess applications relating to natural resource
and environmental management to develop sound, well-constructed technical
arguments to support a recommendation or decision, including major project
associated with complex Environmental Offsets, Development Applications
and Property Maps of Assessable Vegetation (PMAVs);
Provide high quality advice to senior officers on
the operation of natural resource management legislation;
Exercise delegated authority under legislation
using sound administrative decision making processes;
Prepare and draft submissions, briefs and
correspondence, and contribute to the development of legislation and
associated policy, work practices and guidelines relating to complex
natural resource management issues;
Undertake risk analysis to find innovative
solutions to complex problems within the regulatory framework;
Participate constructively in regional and
State-wide teams to plan, coordinate and lead implementation of new
directions, strategies and initiatives;
Contribute to the planning and implementation of
compliance activities which include undertaking inspections, developing
reports and imposing legislative enforcement tools; and
Implement improved work practices and procedures
in meeting departmental objectives and maximising services to clients.
