CyberMentor Job Vacancy in UK – Home working (internet access essential)

About us
Beatbullying is the UK’s award-winning bullying prevention charity that provides support to children and young people affected by bullying and discrimination.

CyberMentors is a Beatbullying project and the first nationwide peer-mentoring site, using social networking technology and therapeutic services, to support young people in need through live chat, private messaging and forum posts. Online communication is becoming a substantial part of young people’s lives and we are recruiting to increase our team of LGB&T Senior CyberMentors to help support the thousands of young people who visit the site every year.

About the role
LGB&T Senior CyberMentors, aged 18-25, are trained Volunteers from across the UK who provide support to all young people who come to CyberMentors. They have additional training and responsibilities to support young people who may come to the site for support, or with questions, relating to their sexuality or gender identity. Ideally LGB&T Senior CyberMentors would commit to approximately two hours a week online, however this can be split into smaller chunks and accumulate to two hours over the week.

You will receive first class training, a CRB check and regular email newsletters from Beatbullying HQ! You will be fully supported and have a dedicated, named, contact through whom you can channel all queries, comments or concerns. All LGB&T Senior CyberMentors work online in a virtual community so you can do this from college, home or work.
