g a Work Shop Manager to lead a small team of fitters and
manage all workshop activities.
About the Job
This is a new position that in the past has been
managed by the dealerships “Service Manager” who is currently responsible for
all Parts, Service and Workshop activities. Due to sustained growth, additional
support is needed to maintain the dealerships existing capabilities at a high
standard in the both departments that make up Mechanical Services.

The workshop has a small team of up to 5 tradesmen
that conducts in house and field service work with the following capabilities;

- Hourly Servicing
- Diagnosis & Repair
- Overhaul and Rebuild
- Modifications & Upgrades
- Engine & Component Change Outs
- New Build Assembly
- New Machine set up and client training
- Pre-Season equipment checks and reports
- Warranty claims & service
The equipment is either new or used and covers
Agricultural Equipment and Road Trucks such as;

- Tractors
- Sprayers
- Bailers

Working on a level footing with the Service Manger
you will both work as a team with the shared goal of managing a well run and
highly organised Mechanical Service Department. Both parties will liaise
with each other in the management of day to day activities such as work
schedules, allocation of resources through to quotations & invoicing.

As the Work Shop Manager you will have overall
responsibility of workshop activities and the field service crew and your main
tasks will include;

- Leading and motivating a small team of
tradesmen to maintain a positive work environment that is productive,
efficient and works to high standards - Managing and Scheduling all mechanical work
for the workshop and field service crew - Working on the tools in both workshop and
field service jobs - Creating job orders and liaising with mechanical
staff to ensure they are aware of the scope of work such as parts, time
frames and budgets - Providing technical advice for both workshop
staff and clients in diagnostic and repairs - Management of warranty claims ensuring reports
and documentation is completed in order to provide as much factual
information as possible in order to make an informed & fair
decision - Scheduling Pre and Post Season equipment
services and checks – Seeding & Harvesting - Troubleshooting issues from parts
availability, absent staff to client complaints
This role will be very hands on and you will be on
the tools a fair amount of the time. This may involve in assisting the
crew for small tasks such as crane lifts through to assisting on jobs to meet
tight deadlines.

About the Candidate
We are looking for a candidate with Agricultural
Equipment & Road Truck exposure as a “Work Shop Manager” or “Leading Hand”
at a Dealership or large workshop, having at least 2 years experience in the
mentioned role.

You will possess a trade in Ag Fitting, HD Fitting,
Diesel Fitting or Similar and have extensively worked on Agricultural Equipment
as well as Road Trucks & Trailers. Candidates that may only possess
experience in one of the two equipment types will also be considered.

Possessing the technical knowledge that allows you
to quickly diagnose mechanical faults and have the ability to estimate the
requirements of the work regarding number of personnel, parts and time frames
is essential. You will be the go to person for technical troubleshooting
having the in depth knowledge of the equipment especially in relation to common
faults and the best practice to repair them.

Having a focus on customer service is crucial as
you will be one of the main representatives of the organisation and been highly
professional with both clients and staff is essential.

Been proficient on computers and been able to pick
up and navigate parts, schedule or equipment software is highly
desirable. You will also be utilising computers as one of your main
business tools for emails, record keeping and general administration.

You’re Location
Ideally, candidates based in Geraldton or within a
reasonable driving distance for work are highly sought after. Candidates
that are based in WA or interstate will be considered but must be aware that
relocation to Geraldton will be mandatory and relocation costs will be at the
candidates expense.

Remuneration
Depending on experience, you will be paid between
$38.00 to $40.00 + Super + Vehicle. You will be expected to earn 100k to 120k
per annum depending on your pay rate and the total hours worked over this
period.
