Computer Terminologies

Abacus: this first computer tools is made of a wooden frame
in a rectangular shape used for counting.
Basic: a high level programming language designed for beginning BASIC stands
for Beginners All Purpose Symbolic Instructional Code
Assemblers: a special program that translates a program in
assembly language into a machine language

Assemble Language: a low level computer programming language like
language but it uses mnemonic instruction names
Binary Number System: a number system that only O/S and 1st
the number system used by computer
Bit: a short form for binary digit e.g. 0 and 1
Booting: turn on and start up the computer
Bug: a program error
Byte: a group of eight bit. Every character on the keyboard is represented by
one byte
Character: a letter, numeral or other symbol on the computer
Cold Booting: Booting the computer by turning on the power or by
pressing a RESET button.
