Job description: COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS SPECIALIST – DUBLIN – €30,000 – €35,000
PART-TIME: 20 hours per week
In partnership with its client CPL is currently seeking an experienced Compensation and Benefits Specialist for a 12 months contract position based in Dublin.
The incumbent to this position will lead compensation & benefits activities for Ireland by proactively partnering with client-facing HR colleagues and local Business Line Management and applying deep technical skills and country knowledge to total rewards issues and opportunities. The Compensation & Benefits Consultant will evangelize Total Compensation Philosophy and Strategy, striving to balance corporate philosophies and strategies with needs of local organizations related to compliance, culture and cost of rewards solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Act as primary point of contact and compensation and benefits expert
• Perform regular, thorough and deep technical analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation and benefits programs.
• Take ownership of the annual compensation structure design process in Ireland.
• Partner with HR colleagues and Business clients to manage, consult on compensation and benefit-related issues and to provide guidance in developing creative rewards solutions.
• Develop credibility among primary clients by consistently demonstrating solutions-oriented approach to clients’ compensation and benefits related concerns.
• Understand the complexities of communication and change in a highly matrixed, global organization and therefore apply a combination of deep technical, analytical and influencing skills when delivering and administering compensation and benefits programs and policies.
• Ensure compliance of all mandatory and supplementary health, welfare and benefits schemes and programs through regular evaluation which may include conducting market analysis, research, analyzing program cost and participation, recommending program enhancements, and vetting and implementing solutions.
• Identify, select and participate in compensation and benefits surveys which will enhance the data triangulation strategy uses to design total direct compensation plans and structures.
• Conduct job matching, job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation on both a regular annual schedule as well as ad hoc basis where issues arise.
• Identify opportunities to network with internal and external peers to enhance program design and administration as well as to reach out to the network for ad hoc solutions and advice.
• Develop mutually valued relationships with global compensation and benefits team. Leverage relationships to effectively share information, negotiate required localization of programs and policies and implement solutions that are vetted with all stakeholders.
• Works to gain alignment with different constituencies and represents a common point of view across multiple stakeholders.
Baseline Requirements:
• Must possess high level technical skills and personal drive to function effectively and independently in a demanding, fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
• Good understanding of the principles, practices and basic taxation and legislation of compensation and benefits systems in Ireland and other assigned countries.
• Demonstrated track record for planning, doing and auditing work; able to systematically break down problems or processes into their parts and develop several alternative solutions.
• Highly detail driven with emphasis on accuracy, coupled with the ability to see the broader picture.
• Demonstrated ability to develop project plans including prioritizing tasks, managing timelines and deliverables and providing status updates.
• Ability to create tools and models to interpret and analyse data.
• Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills for internal presentations that demonstrate business acumen; able to seek out information, clearly communicate information and requests and provide quality advice.
• Demonstrated mastery and ability to act as a resource particularly regarding rewards management issues (e.g. job evaluation, surveys, job/market pricing, salary range development, etc).
• Highly proficient in Excel; familiarity with Peoplesoft will be an advantage.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required.
