The Community Fundraising Development team is responsible for managing, developing and delivering national community fundraising campaigns including:

• The Great Daffodil Appeal;
• Schools and Youth Fundraising;
• Blooming Great Tea Party;
• Community Campaigns (i.e. collection tins, street collections);
• Memberships and Associations (voluntary service organisations).

The team’s job description covers all areas of their remit. Each team member has a specific focus, although would be expected to cover other areas if required.

The Great Daffodil Appeal was launched in 1986 and is Marie Curie Cancer Care’s flagship fundraising and PR campaign. The daffodil is the emblem of Marie Curie Cancer Care (MCCC) and is the strongest brand for the charity. Sale of daffodil pins, or more accurately their give-away in return for donations, provides focus for the charity’s fundraising and PR throughout March.

Raising over £5.5million in 2010, the appeal is reliant upon an army of volunteers who fundraise and therefore increasing the active involvement of volunteers, and the distribution of daffodils, is the key to our success.

You will be experienced Fundraiser who will work specifically in the areas of the Great Daffodil Appeal and Community Campaigns, working closely with the appeal manager. It also involves communicating with community fundraisers in the regions; delivering fundraising projects, tools and support and motivating them. The role has a high profile in the charity as you will be one of the main point of contacts across the charity for its flagship fundraising campaign.
