The
Position…
The
Reader Development and Local Hist

ory Librarian will work closely with the
Reader Development team and the Community Heritage team to provide high quality
library and information services to the community.

In
particular the position is required to:
  • Provide
    reader services to adults in the community
  • Develop
    and maintain collections and resources for adults at the branch
  • Provide
    local history services.
You
will have
  • Eligibility
    for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information
    Association (ALIA)
  • Specialist
    knowledge in Reader Development; Frontline Certificate highly desirable
  • Strong
    interest in Local History
  • Ability
    to develop and deliver training to staff and community
  • Experience
    in promoting, developing and maintaining collections and resources for
    adults
  • Excellent
    communication skills (written and verbal) with high level literacy, numeracy,
    computer literacy and information retrieval skills
  • Ability
    to deal with difficult situations, resolve problems and diffuse potential
    conflict
  • Ability
    to effectively manage multiple priorities within a high volume environment
    and deliver on individual and team work timetable.
