BACKGROUND:
Children’s
Voice Today (CVT) is an organisation that was established to promote the rights
of the child through meaningful child participation where children/youth
initiate and lead all activities of the organisation (Child/youth led
organisation).
Children’s
Voice Today (CVT) Rwanda is a member of the African Movement of Working
Children and Youth (AMWCY) which was established by children and youth
themselves to find solutions to the problems of working children and youth
while promoting their rights and creating a safe environment for all children.
Children’s
Voice Today (CVT) is envisioning a child-friendly society whereby children are
empowered to meaningfully participate in addressing issues affecting them and
that their voices are heard.
Core
Work Activities
  • With
    support from the children committee members and youth advisors facilitate
    and provide technical support to existing child led media clubs/
    children’s forum that promote the rights of the child, enabling them to be
    more organised to effectively carry out their work.
  • Make
    sure the project management documents are developed and implemented on
    time.
  • Support
    the existing and new child led media clubs in the implementation of their
    activities
  • Organize
    and facilitate outreach and activities to community members
  • Organize
    and conduct  community based campaign aiming at raising
    awareness around child protection and participation
  • Facilitate
    meetings with community members, local authorities and other project
    stakeholders
  • Facilitate
    sensitization sessions for children, local leaders and child protection committee
    members and other community opinion leaders
  • Organize
    and facilitate community based child led media clubs activities
  • Collaborate
    with local authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of the project
  • Previous
    experience in outreach and child participation activities
  • Support
    the planning, evaluation and review meetings
  • Produce
    a weekly, monthly plan and report on the same timely;
  • Regularly
    collect data on project activities and progress using monitoring tools
  • Ensure
    that quality, monthly, quarterly and other reports are developed and
    submitted in accordance with agreed schedules.
  • Effectively
    participate in coordination mechanisms with other Child Protection and
    participation stakeholders.
  • Represent
    CVT in different forums with guidance from the Project Coordinator and
    ensure that the staff team is kept updated.
  • Comply
    with the requirement of CVT Child Protection Policy to ensure maximum
    protection for children.
  • Perform
    any other duties related to the project assigned by the line manager
JOB
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University
    degree in Social Sciences, psychology, child rights and any other related
    field
  • Demonstrable
    skills and experience in project implementation, preferable having worked
    with NGO
  •  Listening

    and decision-making skills
  • Skills
    in training facilitation
  • Good
    understanding of the Child Protection and participation field
  • Understands
    clearly the sense of child led participation and work towards realizing

    the organization
  • Holds
    him/herself accountable for making decisions, managing resources

Monitoring,
