SACCO
Accountant/Manager
Manage the Sacco based on policies, procedures, plans and limits as set by the
Sacco Board of Directors, Prepare and arrange Board and committee meetings in
liaison with the Sacco Preside
nt, Ensure that the Board and all committees
operate within the limits set in the relevant statutes, Sacco by-laws and other
regulations, Prepare business plans and budgets in liaison with the Sacco Board
of Directors, Prepare monthly and annual operations and financial reports
and ensure timely distribution to the board and relevant regulatory
authorities, Treasury management of the Sacco, Reconcile monthly statements,
ledgers and member accounts, Receive, appraise and process loan applications
based on sound lending principles and in liaison with the Credit Committee,
Prepare matching and cash liquidity reports and monitor deposit maturities for
both the Sacco and members, Ensure safe custody of Sacco funds and Controlled
Stationery, Provide member education and
promote membership to achieve set targets, Market the Sacco and conduct
research for new services and products, Undertake performance management of the
Sacco and its staff, Produce requisite reports as per set procedures and
intervals
Degree in Finance related field such as Banking/Accounting/Business
Administration/Economics, Those with Diploma in relevant field with more than 5
yrs experience would be considered, At least 4 yrs experience in operations in
a financial sector with 3 yrs at Supervisory level, Proven working knowledge of
computerised accounting applications
