project will consider systemic risk associated with outsourcing strategies for
major complex MoD projects.

projects are characterised by inherent complexity arising from challenges of
scale, technological and contextual uncertainty, temporal and geo-spatial span,
and economic and political constraints and require management of a wide range
of risks.

Contractual
relationships will be at the core, and the study will map systemic risk and
thematic approaches to risk management, expose current limitations of contract
design and identify alternative interface systems between demand and supply
actors based on relationship management.

The
grant will provide a stipend for 3 years according to the Research Council
level (£14,057 for the 2015/16 session), expenses and will pay Home/EU PhD fees
(international by negotiation). The start date will be by negotiation but could
be almost immediate.
