Position: Guest Services/Front Desk

Cabot Shroes Wilderness Resort and Retreat Centre is located on 55 acres on the
Atlantic coast of Cape Breton Island. We offer outdoor & cultural
adventures and Healing Arts to guests from all over. We are eco-friendly, have
several vegetable gardens, chickens, traditional (chalets, lodge rooms

) and
alternative accommodations (yurts, tree house domes, tipi, a campground) and
more.

We are looking for 2 outgoing, friendly, helpful and hard-working Guest
Services/Front Desk people with a start date of sometime in June, 2016, through
August with possible extension into late October. This position is particularly
well suited for students. Come spend the summer on Cape Breton and join our
team of fun-loving, hard-working staff from all over.

The role of guest services is an important one as they are the face of Cabot
Shores for many of our guests. Front Desk staff act as guides to our guests;
they check them in, show them to their accommodations, provide crucial
information for their stay at Cabot Shores and on Cape Breton overall. This
role is both social and administrative; the ability to perform under pressure
and multitasking skills are necessary. Other tasks include managing rental
equipment (such as signing out guests to kayaks/canoes, selling fire wood,
etc). Administrative needs such as answering phone, email and online booking
inquiries, and generating reports are also taken care of on Front Desk. May
also include tasks related to marketing and promotion, such as social media
updates, photos and videos.
