for MSE Lending / Rural Finance Expert for a project in Rwanda.
Duty station: Kigali, Rwanda
Duration: 4—6 months
Job responsibilities:
• Design MSE lending strategy, products, policies, assessment
tools, risk management and control
• systems
• Identify key features for setting agrilending activities,
in particular providing advice to relevant
• sub-sector agricultural industries
• Support the launch of microlending services in pilot
branches
• Coach Credit Officers in the field and propose improvements
to the lending methodology
• Assist the client in setting up a dedicated microfinance
unit based on outcomes from the pilot
• deployment of microfinance products
• Assess capacity building needs, design and implement
necessary training measures
Requirements:
• University degree in Economics, Finance, Banking or related
technical fields
• At least 5 years of banking experience in
rural/agricultural development, microlending
• Strong communication skills relationship management
• Proven analytical and reporting skills
• Fluency in English, knowledge of French would be an asset
