Aspire Social Worker Job Vacancy in Rwanda

Our client Aspire is
a local NGO in Rwanda dedicated to equipping vulnerable and impoverished women
with the knowledge, skills, esteem and mutual support networks to lift
themselves and their communities out of poverty. They are seeking to recruit a
self driven individual for the vacancy above;

Duties and
Responsibilities:

1. Health

  • Conducting
    and coordinating health training with external partners and experts :
  • Sensitization
    on HIV and STIs
  • Sensitization
    on family planning
  • Sensitization
    on hygiene and nutrition
  • Monitoring
    and intervening in malnutrition for the stakeholders’ children or
    expectant mothers by counseling or referral.
  • provide
    psychosocial support to individuals/groups
  • Providing
    counseling services (both group and one on one)
  • Monitor
    and recommend referral services for women who require specialized
    counseling
  • Provide
    family counseling where required and requested
  • Coordinating
    and following up sensitization on GBV and child abuse
  • Conducting
    and arrange training on human rights and the Rwandan constitution emphasis
    on laws that protect women and children
  • Keep
    records for all above and individual cases
  • To make
    regular home visit and identify beneficiaries at risk and make
    recommendation to her supervisor and if necessary to the local authorities
  • Participate
    in taking/recording beneficiaries data ( baseline and outgoing)
  • Conduct
    focus groups on the graduated groups
  • Represent
    Aspire at external health/social conferences/meetings
  • Submit
    monthly reports to the supervisor
  • Write
    quarterly narrative report

Qualification and
Skills:

  • Degree
    in social work, developmental studies/a related field
  • 1-2
    years experience in a similar role
  • Problem-solving
    and business acumen skills
  • Strong
    level of influence and negotiation skills
  • Able to
    work efficiently as a team member
  • Must be
    Rwandan
